“Visible Men” for GQ Magazine

In the requiem following the murder of George Floyd in 2020, I talked with the fathers and father figures of men who died by police violence—Michael Brown, Terence Crutcher, Daniel Prude, Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd and Jacob Blake—and asked the fathers to reflect on the violence that forever altered their families’ lives—and what it means to raise a Black man in America.
